In keeping with its commitment to promote motocross as a means of encouraging sports development and to foster stronger ties among the motorcycle enthusiasts in Bicol Region and all over the Philippines, the Sorsogon Dirt Cruiser in partnership with Cong. Jose G. Solis hosted the 1st Cong. Jose G. Solis National Invitational Motocross Cup last October 18, 2008 at the Sorsogon City Hall Race Track. This competition was a part of the annual prestigious celebration of the Kasanggayahan Festival in the Province of Sorsogon.

Being the first national competition ever organized by the new generation of Sorsogon Dirt Cruisers, the event proved to be a huge success from the participation of a huge number of national riders (Kenneth San Andres, Jovie Saulog, Moymoy Flores among others graced the occasion with their presence) and group of riders to the massive crowd that came to witness the spectacular stunts and feel the adrenaline rush of the competitors during the race that lasted shortly after sunset.

Previous local races hosted by the group include the 1st Sosogon Festival Motocross Competition held last December 2007, Motocross Summer X Games last May 2008, and the Sts Peter and Paul Festival Motocross Cup held last June 2008 – all in partnership with the City Government of Sorsogon.
