The spectacle continued to unfold as more than 10,000 spectators and racing disciples were treated to another round of breathtaking fireworks in the joint SEL-J Sports and NAMSSA/FIM MX Series held at the Speedworld Supercross Park at SM City, Bicutan in the evening of August 21-22, 2009. This time, the sun was eclipsed by hundreds of night lights illuminating the tracks, as the gladiators revved their engines and blasted off from the starting line in a wild orchestra of flying, roaring machines.

The series’ second round, a star-studded affair with the country’s best players competing, was highlighted by several record-breaking performances of the Therasil racers, the team owned by SEL-J Sports. Donark Yuzon, team skipper, turned in a magnificent game with a come-from behind rally to emerge champion in the Pro 125. “I started off very poorly at 6th place, and I would have chosen to give up, but I didn’t.  I knew I was four good racers away from the leader, but my mind, body and spirit simply refused to surrender.  Beating one of the country’s best was in itself a trophy”, Donark mused.  “I am dedicating my win to my teammate Arniel Lacnit, who broke his shoulder blades in a grueling practice that we had two days ago”, Donark continued. Donark also went on to top the 1st moto of the Pro Open, but slid to number 2 in the second heat when torrents of rain hit the ground. Unable to replace his bike with mudtires, he had to scrimmage the loose, muddy tracks with hard tires. Teammate Paolo Inoc figured in the top 5 in both Pro Open and Pro 125 categories.

JB Bacabac, another Therasil team ace player, took home the gold in the Novice Open Production, with older brother and teammate Dexter Bacabac ruling the Veterans and Novice categories. Other first-place racers under the Therasil team are Joey Barba and newcomer Noynoy Abraham of the Intermediate category.

Bacabac, Inoc and another Therasil ace rider and daredevil Wensor Pamorca also landed in the top 5 spots in the Intermediate Category, with teammate Jose Arvin Santos capturing 3rd place in the Executive category and 4th in the Veterans division. Butch Flores took 3rd and 4th places in the Underbone and Executive heats.

SEL-J Sports’ Therasil racers have dominated the motocross events held in various places in the country in the past months and are being widely considered the team to beat.

Jay Y. Lacnit, the man behind the series, has pulled off titanic effort to ignite a nationwide interest in the off-road racing sport. Mr. Lacnit, who heads SEL-J Sports and manages SEL-J Pharmaceuticals Corporation, envisions that the motocross series sponsored by Therasil of SEL-J Sports, will gravitate more people to don their head gear and ride their bike and create a following for this exciting, exhilarating sport.###
