NAMSSA president, Macky Carapiet said, "Supercross fans all over the country will get the rare chance to watch top Asian supercross riders battling for top honors during several action-packed night races."
“We invite all supercross followers to come and watch their favorite Asian riders go at it in action-packed night races like they’ve never seen before,” said Carapiet, who is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the two-day event.
“This will surely be another memorable weekend of races at the SM City Speedworld Circuit,” added Carapiet, who said high-powered CAT Monark tower lights will be used during the night races.
Races will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on both Sept. 25 and 26. National supercross champion Kenneth San Andres of the Philippines and Erdenbileg Khaliunbold of Mongolia head an elite list of participants seeing action in this competition which offers trophies and cash prizes to the top finishers.
Aside from the Philippines and Mongolia, riders from Russia, Japan, Indonesia, Iran and Thailand have been invited to participate in the event, which is aimed at evaluating the progress of Asian riders in preparation for the coming world championships.
ESPN will provide international coverage for the races.
This will be the second time this year that the country is hosting a world-class supercross race through NAMSSA and Carapiet.
Last March, NAMSSA hosted the first round of the prestigious series in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan in cooperation with Mayor Edward Hagedor.
Carapiet also announced that the next leg of the national series will be held in Tubod, Lanao del Norte on Nov. 22.
