Jake Sheppard, an Australian 12-year old wonder boy in the realm of motocross, is in Manila to attend the FIM Asian Motocross Competition to be held on September 25-26, 2009 at the Speedworld SMX Park in Bicutan, Taguig City.

Sheppard, who lives in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia, started his racing career when he was 8 years old, but rode his first bike 4 years earlier. At such a very tender age, Jake Sheppard has already competed and shone brilliantly in the tracks with very impressive records, among them: 2007 2nd Place in the Northern Region MX Series, 1st Place Club Championship in 2007 and 2008, and recently 2nd Place Overall in the Goulburn Valley 2 Day Open.

Message from Jake Sheppard:

Yesterday was a good day to try out the bike and meet Jay and his team and also to have the opportunity to meet Denden in person. The track was different from what I have race in Australia and humidity took a bit of getting used to, in all I had a really good day, the team was very welcoming and the entertainment off the track was one of my memorable moments (the people that were at the track will know what I mean!!!) that helped to make my mind off the temperature. The bike handled well and after a couple of minor adjustments I felt comfortable on the bike. The bike gets off the start line well and should make for a good start at the Supercross. My day left me feeling comfortable and confident for my main event on Friday and Saturday night. I now know what the bike can do and what the weather is like, the team is awesome and I feel at home. (Well, nearly at home, if it wasn’t so super mainit!) Once again, thank you to all, who helped to make this happen for me
