The 2009 Motocross season has now finished, I want to thank the Sponsors and Supporters who got behind me to make this year so awesome. Without the help throughout the year I would not have been able to compete in such a wide range of events as I have this year.
Overview of my 2009 season..............
This year has been awesome for me. I started this year only riding my KTM 85cc small wheel, because I at the end of last year I decided not to ride my 65cc anymore. My first race for the year was at the Northern Region at Albury NSW, after the first 2 rounds I was leading the series points. Because I was only riding one bike this year, I was looking for something different to challenge me this year. After speaking with Dad he said that I could go up to the next age group when I turned 12 if I wanted to, the only thing was I couldn’t carry any of my points over to the new class and would also move back to "B" Grade, but I would get to change over to big wheel in the 12 to under 16 year age group, that would give me a good build up to racing 125cc next year so I made the change.
Big wheel has been lots of fun and I am finding that I can jump way easier and the class is heaps tougher, maybe because the kids are bigger. Also I got to do a couple of enduro races, one of them being the Hattah Desert Race which was another 2009 memory I wont be forgetting, especially the way the gearing was on my bike giving the chance to ride my 85cc at well over the 100km/h down the long straights. It’s not very often that an 85cc can out run a 250cc, I can tell you I had a big smile as I clicked into sixth gear and went past :)
By the end of July we had been in contact with Philippines Motocross because we were going there for a holiday, by early August It had been organized that I would be racing there. To go from small wheel 85cc (9 to under 12) to 85cc big wheel (12 to under 16) and then to be racing internationally at the 2009 Asian Supercross Championships and meet all the people and riders was awesome for me. My results have been up and down but this has really been a transition year for me and I am happy with how it has all turned out and I still had heaps of fun.
2010: My goals for next year will be to have heaps of bike time to build me up for the 125cc class at the end of May and it would also be awesome to get myself up to "A" Grade by the middle of the year. I am planning to mix up both Motocross and Enduro so it will be a very busy year for me, also I hope to get another ride overseas some time in the year.
Again thank you to all the sponsors and supporters and my new international friends in Asia.
