Starting from first official race held in Tierra Pura estate in Kalaw, Novaliches in 1973, the first international race held in Vigan in 1975, the 1979 energy crisis and Government R.A. No. 33 prohibiting speed contest and rallies using petroleum-based fuels, prompted the man in the name of Butch Chase to experiment on the use of methanol as an alternative to gasoline. The NAMAP race sponsored by Marlboro, the Sarsi sponsored motocross and flat track race, the PNB motocross, the resumption of motocross on October 1981 by CySSAP, the first night stadium race by NAMSSA at Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City on October 1994, FBO races, the JMS National Pewee in 1997, the PLDT-Petron motocross series in Fort Bonifacio and the FIM accreditation on the premier national motocross association the NAMSSA. These are some of the highlights of the past.
